Brown Butter Cookies

Makes prrox 18 extra large cookies.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups AP flour

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 3/4 cup butter, melted and lightly browned, given time to cool.

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar, light or dark.

  • 1/2 cup white sugar

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla extract.

  • 2 eggs, room temperature.

  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips.

  • 1 cup chocolate chunks

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped chocolate.

Directions

  • in a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

  • In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended. Beat in the vanilla and eggs until light and creamy.

  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, along with chocolate chips, chunks and grated chocolate until well combined. cover and chill for 12-48 hours.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • drop cookie dough onto cookie sheet, leaving 3 inches between cookies. Bake for 15 minutes, or until edges are lightly browning. Centers will seem somewhat underdown. Let cool for 15 minutes.

  • Transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
